LISA LANDIS~ Greetings Kids Cookie Breakers from Lisa here in the KCB Studio! Do you like to eat vegetables? Maybe you think some are yummy and some are yucky. Veggies are SO good for us to eat! Many vegetables are in season now so they are extra tasty and fresh. I thought we should celebrate all vegetables this weekend on KCB. The 10 o’clock Theme Party themes up with music with a visit from Mr. & Mrs. Stoner of Stoner Veggies at Lancaster Central Market. They know all about veggies. How to grow them, what is currently fresh and in season, and so much more. Since 1965, John and his wife, Ethel, have been carrying on the tradition of growing fresh produce at the Stoner family farm near Strasburg for over a century. Do you know how carrots grow? Or Brussel sprouts? Maybe you have your very own garden, or would like to start growing your own food. Stoner Veggies has all you need to know PLUS you have a chance to win Veggie Tales merchandise (hahaha we had to do that).
At 11 o’clock you get to request your favorite song.
I hope you can join us this Saturday morning 9-noon.
I will talk to you then.

LISA LANDIS~ Happy Friday Kids Cookie Breakers! I hope you are enjoying the first few days of August. This Thursday, August 9th is Book Lovers Day. Celebrate by taking a trip to the library, or reading your favorite book. KCB is celebrating this weekend with a visit from author Heidi Prestige. Her book is called Vanilla Bean. Eleven-year-old Ava is the only girl at school who wears a leather motorcycle jacket and has been motherless since she was three. She longs to have a cat, but she’s had her fill of loss to such a degree that she even bursts into tears when faced with the death of a fish. Confronted by her father’s remarriage, and faced with a kitten needing to be rescued, Ava is sent on a journey of personal discovery as she confronts the storms of life and learns to move from loneliness to companionship and from despair to hope.
